I have just borrowed a very interesting book about local billiards player Bert Charge, which until a few days ago I didn't even know existed. It was compiled by a 'T. Waller', but other than that name there is no more info on when and whom it was published by.
Anyone know anything else about it - and where I could get hold of some more copies?

The Bert Charge Memorial Handicap will take place on Sunday 7th May at Cambridge Snooker Centre.

It has been decided to change a couple of things this year in order to give the tournament a boost. The League, and it's sponsor Cherry Automatics, have guaranteed £350 of total prize money to play for. The tournament is also to become a charity event, whereby 20% of the total prize money will be donated to a charity of the winner's choice.

The format of play will be decided nearer the time, and may depend on the number of entries received.

Hopefully these changes will raise the profile of the competition, secure its future in the calendar and keep the memory of the person it pays tribute to alive.

The 10th Bert Charge Memorial Handicap Billiards will take place on Sunday 6th May 2007 at Cambridge Snooker Centre.

The changes made last year encouraged over 30 players to take part and we are hoping for a similar turn out this year.

The entry fee is £6 for Cambridge League players, and £8 for all other entries. Total prize money is set at £350.

Registration is at 10.30am, for an 11am start.

All players will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 hours of billiards.
