Secretaries Update (Last updated 12/7/18)

Congratulations to the senior team who having thrashed St Helens 4-0 in the semi final
were unlucky to lose 4-2 in the final to a very strong Widnes team losing 3 frames on pink or black
An outstanding achievement for a league of so few teams and players

Thingwall have opted to leave our league and join the CMS league
I wish them all the best for the future and if they should ever wish to return they
would be welcome to do so
I am making efforts to find a team to take their place in order to keep the League to 8 teams
but if anyone else knows of any prospective teams please ask them to contact me asap
We have run the league previously with only 7 teams but 8 is preferable

From Monday's AGM (Last updated 26/6/18)
Just a few notes from the AGM.
  • The minutes for the 2017 AGM were read and agreed with no matters arising.
  • The secretary read his end of season report which is available to all on the documents tab.
  • The treasurers report was issued and discussed in his absence with no issues.
  • Election of officers, the President (Reg Brown), Chairman (Alby Hall), Treasurer (Richie Green), and Secretary (Keith Rawlinson) all offered their services again for next season, this was agreed unanimously. The Management Committee Members (Ron Davies, John Hughes, Kev Carney) all agreed to carry on in their roles and will be joined on the committee by Gary Tully.
  • A general discussion took place regarding whether teams would be continuing in the league next season, including whether one of our current teams would be splitting to form 2 separate teams(and if they did which players would go to which team). There was also a discussion regarding the possible change of venue for 2 or 3 of the current teams. All decisions regarding teams continuing/entering the league, lists of players for each team and venues (including number of tables) must be notified to the league secretary (Keith Rawlinson) by the 31st July 2018.
  • As agreed at last years AGM the change of format to the Noel Beeby competition is to be reviewed and will be discussed at the next meeting.
  • The new season will start on 5th September 2018.
  • The next meeting takes place on 20th August 2018 at BRNESC 7.30pm start, all clubs must be represented.
