With just one week remaining of the 2019/20 Match Room Sponsored Torbay Winter Snooker League there are three divisions still up for grabs. St Anne’s Q now have a five frame lead at the top of the Premier Division and still need two from their final match to assure themselves of the title as they were held to a 3-3 draw by St Anne’s A as Jason Whittaker had breaks of 56 and 33 in the final frame to deny the Q side victory. With Match Room A having their bye week St Anne’s E have closed the gap to four frames on the Match Room side with a 5-1 win over relegated Brixham Sea Anglers B while Galaxy C remain fourth having also won 5-1 at Match Room Z who slip into the bottom two after St Anne’s X won their match 4-2 at St Marychurch A who are safe in eighth place leaving the St Anne’s X side requiring one frame to confirm their place next season. Ritchie Blackmore knocked in a 34 break in his first frame and a 95 in his second frame to see Dawlish RBL B into a two frame lead, but a fight back from Match Room X saw them take a 3-2 lead before Rob Nicholls clinched a tense final frame to see the match finish all square.

Paignton Cons A have been crowned Division One Champions by winning the first two frames of their match against St Marychurch G before losing the last four as the St Marychurch side battle to avoid the drop while a 36 break by Shaun Peters sees Totnes Cons B climb into second spot after their 3-3 draw at sixth placed Ellacombe Cons A but their season has finished and St Anne’s B who had a bye this week and Match Room D will both be looking to achieve big wins next week to claim second spot. Match Room D have come into contention following their 5-1 win over Dawlish RBL A with Dave Harrop having a 36 break. Galaxy F’s challenge for promotion appears to be over as relegation threatened Upton Social A’s 4-2 win sees the Upton side level with St Marychurch G but they have drawn more matches to keep them just outside of the bottom two while already relegated Brixham Sea Anglers A drew their match 3-3 with seventh placed Central Cons A who also require a single frame from their final match to ensure safety.

The top two in Division Two are level on frames going into the final round of matches as while Preston Cons B had their bye week their challengers Match Room C slipped to their third defeat of the season going down 4-2 at Brixham Cons D, a result which ensures the Brixham sides safety. Roundham A have climbed to third after their 3-3 draw at eighth placed Central Cons B while Brixham Cons C slip to fourth place after going down 5-1 to sixth placed Preston Cons C and Galaxy E won the derby against their B team by 4-2 to leave the sides fifth and seventh while Roundham B’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of St Marychurch B confirms relegation for both sides.

Match Room G go into the final week with a three frame lead at the top of Division Three while Newton Cons Z’s 5-1 win at sixth placed St Marychurch C sees them climb into second spot. Preston Cons A are fifth and level on points with fourth placed Brixham Cons E after beating the Brixham side 4-2 while Newton Cons A’s 5-1 win over bottom placed Paignton Cons B sees them safe from the bottom two while the Ellacombe Cons derby was won 5-1 by the Y team who are seventh and leaving their C team second bottom.
