With Brixham Cons A already crowned Premier Division Champions in the Match Room Sponsored Torbay Summer Snooker League the battle for runners up spot took centre stage. St Anne’s Q went into the final round of matches with a two frame advantage over Match Room Z and had to fight back three times to snatch a 3-3 draw with bottom placed Upton Social A which proved enough to clinch Runners Up spot as Match Room Z were beaten 6-0 by Galaxy C, a result that saw the Match Room Z slip to fifth and Galaxy C climb to third. Champions Brixham Cons A completed their program with a 3-3 draw at Match Room A with James Lee having a 57 clearance for the Match Room side who finished fourth while Match Room D and St Marychurch G drew their match 3-3 to finish the season sixth and seventh respectively.

Paignton Cons A have been crowned Division One Champions by two frames after they drew their final game 3-3 with bottom placed Galaxy E with Neil Parker having a 28 break for the Paignton side while Totnes Cons A clinched Runners Up spot after slipping to a final day 4-2 defeat at fifth placed Central Cons A. Match Room T finished third after drawing 3-3 at sixth placed Roundham A while Lee James (36) and Phil Snowden (25 clearance) helped fourth placed Teignmouth Social A to a 3-3 draw with fifth placed Central Cons B.

The top two clashed in the final round of matches in Division Two and after losing the first frame 44-43 Brixham Sea Anglers A fought back to win the next three frames to clinch the title for the Anglers. Justin Callard then had breaks of 21 and 24 for Preston Cons C which not only clinched a 3-3 draw but confirmed Runners Up position for the Preston side. Roundham B finish third after winning 4-2 at seventh placed Hookhills A while Newton Cons A finish sixth after a 3-3 draw with Paignton Cons B, who despite the draw, finish bottom of the table.


Brixham Cons A have extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division of the Match Room Sponsored Torbay Summer Snooker League to ten frames as they beat St Marychurch G 6-0 whilst St Anne’s Q were having their bye week. Match Room Z are one frame behind St Anne’s following their 3-3 draw with fourth placed Match Room A while Galaxy C are fifth following their 5-1 win over Brixham Sea Anglers X who slip to second bottom and Match Room D rise one place to eighth after their 4-2 win over bottom placed Upton Social A who are four frames behind the Anglers but with a game in hand and included breaks of 30 and 39 in the first frame by Match Room D’s Simon Woods

Paignton Cons A have a three frame advantage at the top of Division One following a 5-1 win over previous leaders Totnes Cons A who due to unforeseen circumstances were reduced to two players at very short notice and slip to second spot. With Roundham A having their bye week they slip to seventh place as the chasing pack looked to close on the leaders as Central Cons A climb to third after their 3-3 draw at eighth placed Preston Cons B and Central Cons B are one frame back in fourth after they drew 3-3 with bottom placed Galaxy E who are now all but relegated. Teignmouth Social A continue to improve with back to back 5-1 wins seeing them climb to sixth with their opponents Match Room T slipping to fifth.

The lead has changed hands again at the top of Division Two with Preston Cons C taking a two frame advantage following their 5-1 win at Newton Cons A with Roundham B and Brixham Sea Anglers A sharing second spot, with the Anglers having a game in hand as Roundham B slipped to a 4-2 defeat to fourth placed St Marychurch C who now trail second spot duo by one frame while the Anglers bounced back from last weeks 6-0 defeat to battle out a 3-3 draw with fifth placed St Marychurch B with Luke McCaughan having a 27 break to secure the draw for the Anglers. Hookhills A and Paignton Cons B both had byes and now will be looking to be battling it out in the last two matches to avoid bottom place.



Brixham Cons A’s lead at the top of the Premier Division of the Match Room Sponsored Torbay Summer Snooker League remains at four frames as they were held to a 3-3 draw by third placed Match Room Z who remain eight frames behind the leaders with a match in hand while second placed St Anne’s Q were also being held to a 3-3 draw by fifth placed Galaxy C. Adrian Tocknell had a 39 break for Match Room A in their 6-0 win over Upton Social A who slip to bottom spot as Match Room D won 4-2 at Brixham Sea Anglers X to rise one place to eighth with the Anglers remaining seventh.

Totnes Cons A have a one frame lead at the top of Division One as they slipped to a 5-1 defeat to seventh placed Teignmouth Social A with Shaun Peters having the current division high break of 51 in the Totnes sides only frame win while second placed Paignton Cons A were on their bye week. Roundham A are four frames behind the leaders following their 3-3 draw at fifth placed Central Cons A while Match Room T are on the same number of frames after their 3-3 draw with Central Cons B who remain sixth and Galaxy E remain adrift at the bottom despite a battling 3-3 draw with Preston Cons B who slip one place to eighth.

Division Two is proving to be the hardest division to predict as last weeks leaders Brixham Sea Anglers A we’re beaten 6-0 at Roundham B which sees the Roundham side go top by one frame, but having played one more match with Mike Stockman enjoying breaks of 22 and 23 in the final frame. The Anglers remain second (on matches won) Preston Cons C join them on 39 frames as they beat bottom placed Hookhills A 5-1 while fourth placed St Marychurch C were held to a 3-3 draw at second bottom Paignton Cons B with Jason Miles (20 & 31) and Les Miles (26) having breaks for St Marychurch and Newton Cons A’s 4-2 win at St Marychurch B sees the sides swap fifth and sixth places in the division.

Third placed Match Room Z trail the leaders by eight frames, but still have a match in hand after their 5-1 success at fourth placed St Marychurch G while Brixham Sea Anglers X are now four frames clear from bottom spot after battling out a 3-3 draw at fifth placed Match Room A.

Totnes Cons retain the lead at the top of Division One, but now only on less matches lost, as their unbeaten record was taken by sixth placed Central Cons B and despite a 32 break from Totnes Skipper Chris Reeman they are joined on 45 frames by the in form Paignton Cons A whose 4-2 win over Central Cons A included a 28 break by Mark Harrison. These two have now opened a six frame advantage over Roundham A who slipped to a 4-2 defeat at Preston Cons B with Tom Holland having a 27 break for the Preston side and Mel Ottaway who had a 23 break for Roundham a victory that helped Preston climb to eighth while bottom placed Galaxy E had a 33 break from Norman Cuthbertson in their 3-3 draw at fourth placed Match Room T a result that leaves them nine frames from safety.

Brixham Sea Anglers A lead has grown to five frames following their 5-1 win over Newton Cons A who slip to sixth. Roundham B’s 4-2 win over second bottom Paignton Cons B was tempered by a two point deduction for a late result posting while third and fourth placed St Marychurch C and Preston Cons C are level on frames with Roundham with both having byes this week.

Roundham A slip to third following a 4-2 defeat at eighth placed Teignmouth Social A while in the Central Cons derby the A side gained revenge for the earlier defeat to beat their B side 4-2 enabling the A side to leapfrog the B side and up into fourth place.

With the top two having byes this week, Roundham B’s 3-3 draw with fourth placed Newton Cons A was enough to give them top spot in Division Two on matches won while a 22 break from Richard Whittaker and a double from Phil Smith helped seventh placed Paignton Cons B to a 3-3 draw with sixth placed St Marychurch B and Richard Sanders had a 21 break and Jim Boyd a 24 break as two man Hookhills A won their first match of the season with a 4-2 success at St Marychurch C.

Ken Williams had a 30 break for the leaders in their 5-1 win over fifth placed Match Room A whose only frame was won with a 54 break by James Lee. Preston Cons C retain the lead at the top of Division Two but surrendered their unbeaten record as they lost 4-2 to second placed Brixham Sea Anglers A which sees their lead cut to two frames. Just one frame back in third are Roundham B who beat bottom placed Hookhills A 4-2 while Paignton Cons B two match winning streak was ended by Newton Cons A who won the final five frames which sees them climb one place to fifth.



With Brixham Cons A having their bye week St Anne’s Q have closed the gap on the leaders to three frames as they beat second bottom Brixham Sea Anglers X 5-1 while Match Room Z are just one frame further back as Andy Fitzgerald had a 33 break in their 4-2 win at sixth placed Match Room D.
Galaxy C remain fourth after their 3-3 draw with bottom placed Upton Social A and Match Room A are fifth after their 4-2 victory over seventh placed St Marychurch G.

Preston Cons B stay at the top of Division One was short lived as they slipped to a 5-1 defeat to Central Cons B with Simon Mitchell recording a 30 break for Central who climb to second on matches won with the Preston side slipping to third. Premier Division leaders Brixham Cons A had to fight hard to retain their unbeaten record as they recovered from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with fourth placed Match Room Z with Simon Plummer recording breaks of 31 and 42 for the Cons side, a result that sees their lead reduced to four frames as nearest challengers St Anne’s Q won 4-2 at fifth placed Galaxy C and last seasons Champions Match Room A are ten frames behind in third but have a game in hand as James Lee (70) and Adrian Tocknell (58) helped them to a 4-2 win over bottom placed Upton Social A while Match Room D recorded their first win of the season with a close fought 4-2 success over Brixham Sea Anglers X which lifts the D side off the bottom of the table and leaves the Anglers team in sixth spot.

There are new leaders at the top of Division One as Preston Cons B’s 5-1 win over bottom placed Galaxy E gives them a one frame advantage. Christian Hill had a 30 break for the Galaxy side in winning their only frame. Brixham Cons A have opened a five frame lead at the top of the Premier Division of the Match Room Sponsored Torbay Summer Snooker League as they won 6-0 at with Simon Plummer having a 44 break for the leaders while Jason Whittaker has the current season high 90 break in second placed St Anne’s Q’s 4-2 win over bottom placed Match Room D and Match Room Z remain fourth and St Marychurch G up to fifth following their 3-3 draw with the Match Room side battling back from 3-1 down and in a closely fought encounter Match Room A are sixth following their 4-2 win at seventh placed Brixham Sea Anglers X.

In Division One five teams share the same number of frames but Totnes Cons A lead on matches won, but also have a game in hand, as they recorded a 4-2 win over Central Cons B who slip to sixth with Shaun Peters recording breaks of 30 and 35 for the leaders. Last weeks leaders Roundham A were beaten 5-1 by Preston Cons B who climb to fifth while Central Cons A and Paignton Cons A are also tied on 15 frames and are third and fourth respectively after they drew 3-3 and Match Room T remain seventh and Galaxy E eighth as the teams drew 3-3 with Andy Morrison recording a 37 break for the Match Room side.

With leaders Preston Cons C having a bye week, Roundham B have closed the gap to one frame at the top of Division Two with a 4-2 victory at bottom placed Paignton Cons B. St Marychurch B fought back from 2-1 down to record a 4-2 win over second bottom Hookhills A while Brixham Sea Anglers A have retained their 100% record with a 4-2 victory at sixth placed Newton Cons A.

The last remaining 100% record fell this week as Premier Division leaders Brixham Cons A were held to a 3-3 draw by sixth placed Brixham Sea Anglers X a result which sees their lead reduced to three frames as Martin Makinen had breaks of 77, 32 & 30 and Ray Little a 31 clearance as St Anne’s Q won 4-2 at Match Room A for whom Alex Mucklow had a 31 break. Galaxy C slip to third despite breaks of 33 for Ryan Gibson and 30 from Darren Nicholls in their 3-3 draw at bottom placed Match Room D while St Marychurch G recorded their first victory of the campaign with a 4-2 win over eighth placed Upton Social A which saw a welcome return to the baize for Steve Strange.

With last weeks second placed side (Central Cons) having a bye Roundham A have extended their advantage to three frames at the top of Division One despite being held to a 3-3 draw at third placed Paignton Cons A while Central Cons A climb to second after their 4-2 win at seventh placed Teignmouth Social A while Totnes Cons A lost their 100% record as they were held 3-3 at bottom placed Galaxy E with Shaun Peters recording a 40 break for Totnes and eighth placed Match Room T also recorded their first victory of the season with a 4-2 win at sixth placed Preston Cons B.

The top two played each other in Division Two with Preston Cons C winning 4-2 at St Marychurch C to open up a two frame advantage and despite a 22 break by Neil Sampson in the final frame. Brixham Sea Anglers A also retained their 100% record with a 4-2 win over seventh placed Paignton Cons B with Phil Smith recording a double for the Paignton side while the match between Hookhills A and Newton Cons A was cancelled with Newton unable to raise a side and being rearranged for this coming Wednesday.
