Just over 40 people turned up for the above and we thank them for giving up their time to do so and thanks to Matt who provided a nice buffet. Bob Burling presented the Cups and Trophies.
Apologies for absence: - Andy Green, Alex Fisher, Gary Norman. 2 clubs failed to send a representative Waterbeach and WT’s.
2022 AGM Minutes had no issues arising.
The Treasurer distributed a Profit and Loss Account which had been Audited and that our bank accounts stood at £2040 with no Debtors. Confirmation that MB Partners had continued to Sponsor us therefore no increase in League entry fees would be proposed. Trophies in the accounts showed an increase, but this was due to the inclusion of a new cup for the Ted Newton competition and 2 seasons Trophies. He confirmed that the coming seasons entries must all come to him. John Benson confirmed that he would continue to sponsor the printing of our handbook for the next 4 years.
The General Secretary thanked Histon for the use of their Club and Curries who continued to look after our Cup and Trophy requirements. He emphasised that although Matt had been pushed in at the deep end, he had done very well in what is not an easy roll. As our stocks of record cards are getting low and the cost of replacement is very high, he asked all to try and copy at home. He appealed to players to put forward their names if they are willing to Referee Cup Competitions as currently, we are reliant on a few who keep turning out.
An approach was made in respect of trying to get County Snooker and Billiards Championships going again, Russell Huxter will speak to Saffron Walden Snooker Club re availability of their facilities.
John Chapman has agreed to captain a team for the UK League Snooker Championships on the 14th and 15th October 2023 subject to player interest and a space being available.
The Record Secretary gave thanks to all who have helped him through his first season, he has learned a lot which will help greatly next season. Thanks were given to the Billiards League community for self-governing their activities. Issues with the NCI cup which should have finished mid may are still ongoing, he asked all teams not to enter if they feel they will be unable to commit to the published dates. WhatsApp continues to work well, and the help given by clubs for neutral venues is invaluable.
Honoraria to remain the same £500 General Secretary, £300 Treasurer and £300 Record Secretary.
All officers elected on bloc, and Auditors agreed to stand again. No proposals for Vice Presidents or Hon. Life Members.
