3 Man Scratch League Match Rules.

1) A team shall consist of however many players are required to fulfil a league match in that season’s forma. Named substitutes may replace nominated players failing to appear (with both captain’s approval), but once having played, shall be deemed to be registered with that team and shall not play for another team in that season, without authorisation of the Management Committee (see rule 13 in the General Rules). A team however must register at least 3 players at the start of the season to enable them to enter that team in the league.

2) The date and/or venue of a match may be varied from that shown on the fixtures list; provided the revised arrangement is met by approval of both captains concerned and by the General Secretary and Fixtures Secretary and at least 3 days’ notice is given.

3) Each club must enter at least 1 team to the league, but can enter more if they wish.

4) The format shall be 6 frames of snooker, 3 players playing 2 frames each, off scratch.

5) Matches shall commence at 7.30pm on the date and at the venue shown on the Fixtures List, unless amended in accordance with rule 2.

6) The method of scoring is 1 point awarded per frame (please note there is no extra point for match won or aggregate).

7) In the event of teams being equal on points in the final league standings, then the league winners will be the team with the greater number of wins, if still equal it will be decided on the number of frames won by each team in the league matches between the teams involved, if still undecided there will be a play off between the teams concerned, in the event of the play off(s) game(s) been tied the aggregate score of that match (es) only would apply. This will be at a neutral venue, home team to be decided by the toss of a coin, pairings as league rules state, with break in each frame to be played by the toss of a coin.

8) Captains shall ensure players are available to allow play to be continuous, with a maximum of 15 minutes’ delay before the start of a match or between frames. If the delay is greater than 15 minutes before the start or between frames, then the opposing team shall have the right to claim the frame.
9) All league results to be sent to the Fixtures Secretary by text/phone or email on the night of the fixture. Also all result cards to be posted in the Conservative Club no later than 5pm on Saturday following the match, failure to comply with this rule will result in a deduction of 2 points, the card been the ultimate responsibility of the home team. Each team captain to keep record of frames scored.
