Does anyone know who is the youngest player at what age was he to have a maximum break. This does not need to be in a match, but could be in practice. We have a player in my club who has just had a 147 when practicing, which was witnessed by others and he is only 14 years 4 months old. Is this the youngest?

I asked Matt from Prosnookerblog who replied as follows:-

Hi Ged,

Apparently Brecel had one when he was 12: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-2130162/Snooker-Luca-Brecel-youngest-reach-World-Championship.html

Otherwise google brings up: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/youngest-snooker-player-to-score-a-147-break/

Jamie Jones is claiming one at 14: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/2619551.stm Says Judd here too: http://www.eurosport.co.uk/snooker/right-on-cue-judd-trump_sto1850672/story.shtml

I know the youngest in competition was Thanawat when he was just shy of 17.

Cheers,

Matt
