Due to Newcastle v Tottenham the comittee has decided to postpone all tomorrows matches December 2nd until the week after the end of the season which would be the 21st April. I've sent a message to all captains but please make sure your players are aware

I've received this message regarding the meadowfield car park
We have had a problem with the camera on the Car Park at the Meadowfield during the time it was off in June, July & possibly Aug, Sept.
There have been Parking Charge notices sent out over the past few days, if anyone gets one of these do not pay & get in touch with the Meadowfield.
Captains please tell all your players, just in case.

I only found out yesterday there is parking charges at the meadowfield although they have been there for a while however Mick Flett has told me if you give your registration at the bar then there is no charge

The date for the home players to make contact regarding competitions has now passed any away player who has not been contacted may now claim the home venue. The deadline is Tuesday 9th December and the next rounds will be drawn during the Peter Heron Memorial Trophy semi final at Heaton Buffs that night.

All draws were done be Colin Whittle, Paddy Donoghue and David Poole.

The contact date for all competitions is Tuesday 18th November with a deadline of Tuesday 9th December.

As clarification has been asked for by some players lately in doubles matches it is fine for players to talk to eachother however once a visit has been started teammates should not confer over shots again until that visit has ended

The contact date of Tuesday 21st October has now passed any away players who have not been contacted by the home team in the competitions are now able to claim the home venue if they wish to do so the deadline is Tuesday 4th November and draws for the next round will be drawn on that night. Any difficulties in contacting opponents or arranging matches please get in touch with the league committee as soon as possible.

Draws were done for the following competitions with a deadline of Tuesday 4th November and a contact date of Tuesday 21st October

Veterans singles 39 entries, 7 matches and 25 byes

As some people have asked there is no league games on Tuesday 21st October due to Newcastle playing at home to Benfica in the champions league that night

All match cards so far have been received

Meeting 2 is due to be held on Wednesday 5th November however Newcastle host Athletic Bilbao in the champions league that night so the meeting is cancelled with any relevant draws taking place the night before at Gosforth when Wallsend Buffs A plays Gosforth A.

Engineers and Coxlodge are no longer entering a team this season. This means that number 5 on the fixture list for Division 2 will become a bye

We think we have 16 entries for the proposed veteran doubles competition this season. All names and entry fees (�3 per team) to be given at or ahead of the next meeting.
The widow of Allan Smith(Whitley Bay Comrades) will be donating a trophy to the league we will use it for the competition.
The final will also be held at Whitley Bay Comrades.

All teams that wanted to host a final or semi final this season were drawn out as follows

These venues will not be changed
All other semi finals will be arranged with venues during the season

The Peter Heron preliminary round had only 1 tie Gateshead v Whitley Comrades on Tuesday 16th September all other teams received a bye.

The league website this season will cost �127.50 and I will be updating it gradually over the next few days

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 8th October at Wallsend Buffs

Two new teams have been accepted into the league for this season Wallsend Coronation captained by Lee Curtis and Gosforth Coxlodge captained by Ryan McGuiness

This means we have 19 teams split into Division 1 with 9 teams and Division 2 with 10 teams

Division 2
Bentinck, Springbank, Meadowfield, Westholme, Forest Hall, Engineers, Heaton Buffs, Jubilee, Coronation and Coxlodge
Promotion and Relegation will be 2 up and 2 down.

All teams have agreed to continue with the rule that the home team will buy 6 drinks for the away team

Under 18 players are not allowed to play in any matches at Wallsend Buffs this also means that they are unable to enter the singles or doubles competitions

We have decided that when Newcastle United have champions league games scheduled for Tuesday nights no league games will be played on that night. Also if any games fall on the night of a scheduled league meeting any draws due to be made will be done by myself and somebody from the team Wallsend Buffs A face on that Tuesday.

The season is due to start on 16th September with the preliminary round of the Peter Heron Trophy and finish on 24th April depending on Newcastles matches.
If Newcastle are scheduled to play on the 16th then the preliminary round will be on the 9th September

All league fees and fines will stay the same as in previous seasons

Depending on interest we will run a veterans doubles competition this year which will cost �3 per team to enter. Names to be brought to the registration meeting.

League Meetings will continue to be held at Wallsend Buffs with attendance NOT being compulsory.

It was agreed that we would hold the Division 1 singles final/presentation night at Dunston.
All other finals will be drawn out at the registration meeting for those clubs wishing to host them.
All finals will be held at the venue they are drawn out to be played at even if someone from that club reaches the final
If two players/teams from the same club play eachother in a semi or final they will be allowed to play at their home club.

Last seasons sponsors Borderline Taxis and CP Flooring will continue to sponsor the league this season. Scott Rogan will also be sponsoring the league this season.
