Widdop Halstead & District Handicap Snooker League Rules 1. Each team will consist of three player seach playing two frames each. 2. Each player must play to their individual assigned handicap. All players must be registered with the league secretary before the league starts. If a team wishes to add to their team after the start of the league they must register the player with the league secretary with an honest assessment of the players ability to assign their handicap. Handicaps will be reassessed as soon as a player plays 10 frames in each season. Handicaps will increase/decrease by 7 points 3. One point will be awarded for every frame won. 4. The order of play is: Home player 1 vs Away player 1 Home player 2 vs Away player 2 Home player 3 vs Away player 3 Home player 1 vs Away player 2 Home player 3 vs Away player 1 Home player 2 vs Away player 3 5. The home team captain must indicate the playing order of the home team before the away team draws for the away team playing order. 6. All matches are due to start by 7.30pm on Friday evenings. 7. If a team cannot start by 7.30pm they must contact the home club and opposition captain to inform them of the situation. 8. The home team shall be responsible for providing a referee for all frames. 9. Normal snooker rules will apply for all matches. Except in this league we do not play the miss rule. 10. The home team captain must send the complete score card by Whatsapp to The Captains group. Please ensure all of the scores are filled in not just W or L 11. The team with the most points at the end of the handicap league will be the winners and hold the winners trophy for one year. 12. In the event of two or more teams having equal points at the end of the handicap league the following rules will apply in this order to determine the order: a. If the results are the same the team with the most wins will be the winners b. If the wins are the same the team with the least losses will be the winners c. If the number of wins and losses are the same the team with the best results against each other will be the winners. d. If the winners cannot be decided by these rules and the results are the same then the two teams will play a one-off deciding match to decide the winner on at a neutral venue (to be decided by the league committee) 13. If a team needs to postpone a match they must advise the opposition team and fixture secretary as soon as possible by telephone and email (if possible give a minimum of three days notice). The fixture secretary will re- arrange the fixture for the first available free week in the fixture calendar (there will be a maximum of four free weeks available). 14. If, in exceptional circumstances, a team cannot field the required three players they are permitted, on a maximum of two occasions to field two players that will play three frames each and with the agreement of the opposition team. The additional frame played by a player will not contribute towards the most frames trophy. 15. If there are any outstanding fixtures remaining at the end of the season and they have no impact on the teams in position to win the league the fixture secretary will advise the teams on how to fulfill the fixture. 16. Each players handicap will be reassessed every 10 frames played, being changed by 7 points. 17. Handicap cup League a. A league is run as normal with the top 4 teams going through to a knockout. b. Semi finals 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd. c. All matches must be taken down to the black in case frames are drawn and points come in to place. d.
