Hi All,
Just wondering what different leagues do regarding cancelled matches?
How long to play them? fines? point deductions? any response would be appreciated
Many Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,

In our league (Ormskirk) we usually have approximately 4-6 matches a season that are cancelled which isn't that bad really as we have 294 matches played in our two divisions over the whole season. We usually to have rule in place were the postponed matches had to be played within 10 days. This created some problems so we scrapped that about 4 seasons ago and let teams play it as soon as they can without taking the 'mickey'! To date, we haven't experienced any problems but we do insist that if a team wishes to rearrange they must give a minimum of 48 hours notice. I suppose it depends on the league and if people competing in it respect the league as the vast majority of our players do. Hope this might help!

Kind Regards

Barry

Ian,

If you take a look at the Liverpool Snooker League 'Rules' page, Rule 13 will tell you how we handle cancelled matches - works well for us.
